Vijay has Chikku Bukku first… now Myna & then Siruthai

Vijay TV has entered the competition in a big way by procuring the satellite rights of latest releases. The channel had obtained the rights of the Arya-starrer Chikku Bukku and is treating its viewers this Pongal by airing the film.



Similarly, this private satellite channel has also bought the satellite rights of the blockbuster Myna and the Pongal release Siruthai, which has Karthi and Tamannah playing the lead.

With Vijay TV jumping the bandwagon of procuring the satellite rights of latest releases it poses a stiff competition to Sun and Kalaignar TV who were ruling the roost till now.

A.R. Rahman's Associate in Chikku Bukku

Pravin Mani’s association with A.R. Rahman dates back to 90s, where the duo came up with sensational peppy numbers like ‘Petta Rap’ in ‘Kadhalan’ and more western numbers. Pravin Mani later got himself involved in various albums and got back to work with A.R. Rahman in ‘Ghajini’, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and recent release ‘Enthiran’.



Pravin Mani has been signed for background scoring in ‘Chikku Bhukku’ and will also tune couple of additional tracks.

The producers have conveyed that Pravin Mani’s aesthetic touch of enhancing romantic feel through his music has been successful in many films. ‘We believe that his involvement over background score will embellish the rich visuals and poignant romance’.

The film’s music will be released on August 13 and Think Music has acquired the audio rights.

Chikku Bukku Songs will be launched soon

The audio launch of Chikku Bukku, which has Arya and Shriya playing the lead roles, will be launched in July or August 2010. This film is directed by Manigandan, who took over the rein of the film Dhaam Dhoom after director Jeeva’s untimely death during the shooting of that film in Russia.

Preetika Rao, sister of Bollywood star Amrita Rao, will make her debut with Chikku Bukku.

Camera has been cranked by R.B. Gurudev, dialogues are written by S. Ramakrishnan, and lyrics are penned by Padmashree Valee, Pa. Vijay and music is by Colonial Cousins Hariharan and Leslie. Rekha Chinni Prakash and Dinesh are the choreographers.

A press release about this film states, "The film is a romantic travelogue, which starts in London and ends in Karaikudi. The shooting took place in around trendy areas of London, scenic locales of Mysore, Coonoor and traditional houses of Karaikudi."

Arya's new heroine Preetika in Chikku Bukku

She's a model. She's a journalist. And she's the latest PYT in Tinsel town.

Preetika (sister of Bollywood star Amrita Rao) says she decided to try her hand at movies when modelling became monotonous. Her first ad -- for Cadbury's milk chocolate -- was with none other than Amitabh Bachchan. Subsequently, she modelled for Acuvue lenses.



She has also modelled products like shampoo and toothpaste in countries like Bangladesh, Indonesia and Pakistan.

This Mumbai-bred, Sophia College graduate -- who has also been contributing articles to newspapers -- will make her big-screen debut in the Tamil film, Chikku Bukku, which co-stars Arya and Shriya.

"I wanted to do something new, Chikku Bukku came my way and I felt I should it a shot!," Preetika smiles.
