I can win without glamour: Meera Nandan

The Telugu film Jai Bholo Telangana in which Meera Nandan has acted was a great success. Meera while speaking about this said,

"People say that only with glamour one can win in Telugu films. Because of this I was also scared to act in Telugu films. But there was no glamour in Jai Bholo Telangana.

I donned the role of a college student. In the second half of the film I will turn as a revolutionary girl. This film has proved that a film can be a hit without small bit of glamour. Though I have acted in commercial Malayalam films, I have also acted in an art film titled Yathra Thodarunu.

I am also acting in an art film directed by T V Chandran. Though I act in commercial films, art films give me mental satisfaction."

The 13th Ujala-Asianet Film Awards 2011 was announced on the 1st day of the New Year and big names of the Malayalam industry ruled this year in almost all categories. Interestingly, for the first time, 'Asianet' has announced awards for Tamil actors. And Ilayathalapathy Vijay has been chosen for Most Popular Tamil Hero Award for his Tamil films.



It may be worth mentioning here that Vijay fans from God's own country recently launched the towering statue of the star which electronically reacts to the beat of drums much to the delight of many fans in typical Vijay style.

While Mohanlal was selected for the special jury honour "Asianet Golden Star" for his overall contributions to the cinema during his career spanning nearly three decades. Megastar Mammootty who was the previous year's "golden star", won the best actor award for his performance in three super hit films released last year Best Actor, Pranchiyettan the Saint and Kutty Srank.

Nayantara walked away with best actress award for her performance in the Malayalam version of Kaavalan 'Body Guard'.

Sadha said that she lost lot of offers due to Hindi films. She while speaking to the media said,” I got lot of offers after the hit film Jayam with Ravi which was released in Tamil and Telugu.

Later on I paired with Vikram in the film Anniyan which was directed by Shankar. This film was a great hit and earned me a great recognition in the South Indian languages.

After acting in 20 films in Tamil, Telugu , Kannada and Malayalam films, I decided to act in Hindi films. I acted in Hindi films Love Khichdi and Click. But these films did not release in time. The shooting of these films were commenced and was prolonging.

My call sheet was wasted. Since there was a condition that I can accept new films only after completing these films, I had to lose other opportunities. I cannot blame anyone for this. Currently I am acting in the Tamil film Puli Vesham (click here to view hot Meghna naidu in Puli Vesham) and in the Hindi film Kalpaali. In Kannada, I am acting in Mallari and Thunda Thundi.”

Mallika Sherawat turns into Malayalee beauty!

The sexy Mallika Sherawat is on a whirlwind tour of various Indian cities to promote her upcoming film ‘Hisss’. Playing a 'Snake' in the film that is directed by Jennifer Lynch, Mallika visited the famous Sree Nagaraja Temple at Manarasala in Kerala yesterday.

Looking gorgeous in a sari and accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Lakshmi Bai of Travencore (who also makes her big screen debut in Hisss); Mallika offered her prayers at the renowned snake temple for the success of ‘Hisss’.
